Demonstrates ability and knowledge to provide leadership for all technical, clinical, regulatory, financial, and administrative aspects of Chemistry and Point-of-Care Testing (POCT) in order to provide highest quality of testing available. Develops laboratory guidelines for quality control and quality improvement by overseeing the department's QI projects. Maintains procedure manuals and coordinates operations at a level consistent with budgetary guidelines. Addresses complaints and resolves problems in accordance with the organization's policies. Provides assistance to Administrative Director for purchasing, budgeting, and staff interviewing, hiring, scheduling, and supervision. Demonstrates ability and knowledge to independently perform, interpret, and troubleshoot clinical laboratory tests, both automated and manual, within established time frames with accuracy and precision. Instructs department personnel on technical procedures and ensures conformance with department standards. Is able to perform multiple tasks such as phlebotomy, QA activities, quality control procedures, ordering, computer functions, and other duties as assigned. Ability to communicate in a professional manner, both written and verbal, with all levels of Holy Redeemer Health System staff and clients.

At least five years experience in Chemistry as a technologist. Supervisory experience required.
Bachelor's degree from a 4 year college or university, MT (ASCP) preferred; or A.S. MLT (ASCP) with 8 years experience.
Good organizational and communications skills.
Previous experience with use and maintenance of laboratory information systems

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
