Title: Clinical Nutrition Manager
The Clinical Nutrition Manager is responsible for the coordination of clinical nutrition services. Interacts and communicates closely with the General Manager, Executive Chef, and Director of Clinical Nutrition Services on matters of nutrition, patient services, and department and organization operations. Directs and supervises the inpatient and outpatient dietitians and dietetic technicians. Maintains responsibility for clinical services, regulatory compliance, nutritional records, and staff nutrition education. Functions as a resource to other team members in all aspects of clinical nutrition. The Clinical Nutrition Manager is familiar with the organization and functions of all areas of the department. This includes policies and procedures of the organization to provide maximum integration and coordination of clinical nutrition services with all aspects of patient and client service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Client, Patient and Guest Relations
Demonstrates diplomacy and positive interpersonal skills in communications with all staff and family members.
Participates in the organization's programs to promote proper nutrition.
Serves as nutrition resource to other healthcare staff members and physicians. Interacts with other departments in problem solving, training and policy development activities as related to nutrition and dining services.
Maintains confidentiality of patient and staff records.
Financial Results
Assists the General Manager in developing and monitoring the annual budget.
Tracks clinical productivity.
Operational Execution
Provides high quality medical nutrition therapy to hospital patients. Ensures that clinical practice standards and established policies and procedures are followed. Follows current diet manual standards.
Documents in the medical record using appropriate format within 24 hours of patient visit, assessment or consult.
Documents current and pertinent patient information according to policy.
Provides support to the clinical staff by functioning as a team member in providing quality nutrition care. Participates in the development and presentation of nutrition classes, displays, in-services and programs for the staff, patients and facility.
Ensures clinical practice standards and established policies and procedures are followed.
Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies ? Maintains confidentiality of patient and staff records.
Demonstrates willingness to meet the needs of the department by assisting managers in other areas of the department as necessary.
Serves as a resource to the department, the organization and the community
Participates in the development and presentation of nutrition classes, displays, in-services and programs for the staff, patients and facility.
Participates in establishing department staffing levels and guides the staff in allocation of human resources that supports adequate coverage and patient care and minimizes cost, while providing programmatic support.
Evaluates department performance according to established standards and predetermined goals such as budget targets, patient satisfaction, and patient care outcomes.
Develops and monitors performance improvement activities related to clinical activities and coordinates performance improvement activities related to patient food services with the General Manager and Executive Chef.
Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of regulatory standards by complying with all federal, state and local regulations.
May participate in special events, ordering, and supervising of staff as assigned.
Communicates in a highly professional manner in both written and verbal formats with medical, nursing, administration and other health care team members through conferences, charting and individual interaction.
Participates in the development of Cura corporate and department clinical goals and objectives.
Participates in assigned unit's managerial functions.
Participates in Cura corporate clinical meetings.
Human Resource Practices
Maintains a plan for self-development and professional growth.
Serves as a role model for employees by maintaining standards for appearance and dress, attendance and professional behavior.
Ensures all clinicians maintain continuing education requirements for registration and licensure.
Treats employees with fairness and respect. Participates in human resource functions of orientation, hiring, discipline of staff, and evaluation.
Attends professional meetings and seminars to stay current on practices and trends.
Projects professional image for Cura Hospitality and nutrition professionals.
Qualifications:
Three to five years professional experience in the field of dietetics in a leadership role.
Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
Licensed to practice dietetics in the appropriate U.S. state(s).
Previous experience in a leadership role in acute care management preferred.
Previous experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) charting.
Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
Ability to organize workloads and meet deadlines.
Proficiency with Microsoft software programs.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Lifting objects up to 15 lbs.
Bending, reaching, manipulation of small objects and grasping.
Walking short distances.
Exposure to high noise levels.
Exposure to high heat and humidity levels.
Sitting or standing for long periods.
Manipulation of small writing instruments, keyboards, and telephones.
Job Hazards include:
Burns, cuts, slips, falls, back sprains. Possible exposure to communicable infectious disease.



Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
